Bust length, top hat on, the glare fixed and the arm thrust out with the finger foreshortened at the viewer. A block caption fills the bottom third, where the enlistment line used to sit.
“After” is the old gallery word for a work made in open conversation with another. It is a lineage, not a shortcut.
