The head on the right keeps the frontal stare, the hollow cheeks, the cropped red beard and the open blue collar. Warhol leans in from the left in a white wig and red glasses to kiss his cheek.
“After” is the old gallery word for a work made in open conversation with another. It is a lineage, not a shortcut.
