The uterus is cut open and the wall folded back like peel, the rim studded with rounded lumps, the lining picked out in red and green. A full-term foetus curled inside, cord looped across it.
“After” is the old gallery word for a work made in open conversation with another. It is a lineage, not a shortcut.
