Uncle Sam fills a flat yellow field, hectoring the viewer in the recruiting poster's second person, down to the word slacker. The pointing finger is gone, the star-spangled hat held out in one white glove and a bottle in the other.
“After” is the old gallery word for a work made in open conversation with another. It is a lineage, not a shortcut.
