The four travellers sat down on a red settee in the middle of the yellow brick road: funnel hat and axe, straw at the cuffs, the red bow, the slippers. Those slippers are the film's invention. In the book they were silver.
“After” is the old gallery word for a work made in open conversation with another. It is a lineage, not a shortcut.
