The Diamond Guarantee

What the Diamond Guarantee is

Diamond Certification is our full authentication review. A piece that passes it carries the Diamond Guarantee: if we later determine, applying our published standards, that a Diamond Certified piece is not authentic, we make it right financially. Gold Certification and Community Confidence are opinions and community signals; only Diamond carries this guarantee.

What we will do

If a Diamond Certified piece is determined not authentic, CarryCollect will, at its election, either refund or repurchase the piece for the lesser of (a) the price the current owner actually paid for it in an arm's-length transaction, or (b) the piece's certified comparable value at the time of certification. Off-platform sale prices do not set the claim amount. This is the exclusive remedy for authenticity claims on certified pieces.

Who it protects

The guarantee protects the piece's current registered owner. It cannot be claimed by the person who originally submitted the piece for certification, or by anyone acting for that submitter's benefit.

How it travels with the piece

The guarantee follows the piece's on-chain certificate and its registered owner. If the piece is sold off-platform without registering the transfer, the guarantee is suspended; it reinstates once the new owner registers the transfer (currently $5). Keeping the registered owner current is what keeps the guarantee alive.

Limits and the Guarantee Reserve

The guarantee is backed by a dedicated Guarantee Reserve, funded from a portion of platform transaction-fee revenue. It is not the Carry Fund, which is always one hundred percent pass-through to charity and never backs this guarantee.

Each claim is subject to a per-claim cap, a per-person lifetime cap, and an annual aggregate cap, and to the available balance of the Guarantee Reserve at the time of the claim. What it does not cover

The guarantee does not cover pieces removed from their certified condition, tampered with, or damaged after certification. Loss of or damage to a piece while it is in our custody is handled separately under the custody and insurance terms (Terms of Service Section 18), not under this guarantee.

How to make a claim

Email vault@carrycollect.app with your piece's registry details and the basis for the claim. We review it against the standards in effect when the piece was certified. The Diamond Guarantee is governed by these terms and by Section 14 of the Terms of Service.
